Family Fun

This past weekend we met Matt's family at Joe Pool Lake for the day.
Here's a picture of me and my sweet baby...
She went off-roading in her stroller... she slept through it.
Here is Ella and her PaPa.
...and her Nana

She enjoyed swinging...
...and sleeping in my arms.
Here she is in her Aggie outfit. She was VERY cute in it. Her daddy was proud.
on that note.........Sic 'em bears!!
Gotta stay true to my green and gold!
Here is Uncle Andy with Ella and cousin Grady.
"Hey.. those sunglasses look like fun!"
Love this kid...
Hat courtesy of her Memere.
Ralph Lauren dress courtesy of our friend Dina.
This kid is so silly... I keep finding her like this in the mornings.
She loves to wiggle around her crib and sleep in crazy positions.
This is a result of sleeping with her head crammed up against her bumper pad...
This is Ella's bed at work.
I came in the room to find her bear peeking over the side...
Where did the baby go??
Oh, there she is!
(another cute outfit courtesy of Dina)
I came in her room this morning to find her playing peekaboo with her bear.
Seriously, have you seen crazier hair??
What a kid!!

Good night all!

It's a short one....

This is a short blog, but it's late and I'm ready for bed!

Speaking about bed....
I have never been a morning person... it's always been very hard to get up in the mornings, but I must say, I love to wake up to this cute face! She's always so cheery in the mornings!

Ella in her bed at work... not napping.
I'm quickly learning that I can't turn my back even for a second... someone got a hold of Aunt Jemima! I guess she's got a sweet tooth like her mommy!

Mother's Day Weekend!

It was my first Mother's Day, and I can say I am extremely blessed to be a mommy to this sweet little girl! She brings such joy to my life!
Saturday evening, Matt's parents came to visit.
Ella had a good time hanging out with her Nana and PaPa.
She had her eyes on those silly dogs!
Today after church, Derek and Beth treated us to a Mother's Day brunch at the Warwick Hotel in Dallas. Lots of yummy food! Thanks Derek and Beth!
For my first Mother's Day, I got donuts and flowers Saturday morning, and I also got these cute stackable rings from Sundance.. love them! Ella and her daddy are good shoppers!
I also got to go to my favorite restaurant for lunch on Saturday...California Pizza Kitchen!

Then, Matt took me to an antique store! What a treat!
I bought myself a Mother's Day present... this cute memo board.

Two of my favorite people!!
Our four generation pic on Mother's Day.
I'm so blessed to have two of the most loving, supportive and Godly women to have raised me and to guide me as I raise a daughter of my own. Love my Mom and Memere!

Mother's Day afternoon, my little munchkin went crazy and would not sleep. I attempted to put her in her bed a few times, only to find her upside down and backwards. She was squealing and having a good time. I went in to find her head crammed against her bumper pad, which gave her some major bed head!!
She's a crazy kid...
Rocker chick vs Mad scientist
What a girl!

Hope everyone had a good weekend!
Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies!

Lamentations 1

This chapter of Lamentations motivates me to really set my eyes on the Lord and not stray from Him. Many times I have been in this women's shoes, and it's miserable!

V. 1 - She "once was great among the nations! She who was queen among the provinces has now become a slave." Probably most of us have experienced that... walking with the Lord at one point and a slave to our sin the next.

V. 2- "Bitterly she weeps at night" Ummm..yes!! Been there too! "There is no one to comfort her. All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies." How often do we search for comfort from our friends, family, boyfriends, spouses, etc only to be disappointed? In times of desperation, only the Lord can comfort us and bring us peace. So many relationships have been destroyed because of the lie that our significant other is the one to fill the void. It's impossible for a human being to do.

V. 5 - "Her children have gone into exile, captive before the foe." What we do now affects our children in the future.

V. 7 - "In the days of her affliction and wandering Jerusalem remembers all the treasures that were hers in the says of old." When you follow the Lord, you store up your treasures in heaven. When you sin, you have nothing of value.

V. 8 - "All who honored her despise her, for they have seen her nakedness." When we fall into a sinful life, our reputations are at stake.

V. 9 - "Her filthiness clung to her skirts; she did not consider her future." Everything we do now and all the decisions we make affects our future. We must make the decision NOW to walk with God, not later. There might not be a later.

V. 18 - "The Lord is righteous, yet I rebelled against his command. Listen, all you peoples; look upon my suffering." V. 20 "See, O Lord, how distressed I am! I am in torment within, and in my heart I am disturbed, for I have been most rebellious. Outside, the sword bereaves; inside, there is only death." We must use her story as an example and choose now to set our sight on Heavenly things and keep God the priority in our lives. If we choose to sin, we choose a life apart from God. A life apart from God leads to death and suffering.

Lord, thank you for your faithfulness and forgiveness for the times we have been apart from you, and I pray that we never lose sight of you. Thank you for your word that we may learn and grow from it. We love you and praise you. Amen

Good night all!

Happy Hump Day!

Happy baby!
Ella in her "e" bloomers!
What a kid!

"Mommy, what are you doing??"

So last week I ordered some things online from Kohls. One of which was the
"Little Glamour Gift Set" for Ella. I had a coupon and so I got it for a good price.
It has a little purse and even a BIG diamond ring! Very Cute...
BUT...
Instead, when the shipment came, I got the "Fun to Fix Gift Set."
Instead of diamond rings and purses, we got tools! Go figure!
The glamour set was no longer in stock, so they sent me the others by mistake.
If it were possible, I'd think her daddy had some hand in this. ;-)
So now, Ella has her first set of tools! Ha!
Here she is playing with her saw... =)

In February, Matt and his crew at work had a CPR save.
This is a very rare occurence, but they were able to revive the man on the way to the hospital.

The first thing this man did after leaving the hospital was right the note below and stop by the fire department to thank those who saved his life.
A few weeks ago, Matt and the rest of Fire Dept crew and Ambulance crew
were recognized for their efforts is saving Mr. Harris' life.

Below is Mr. Harris and his wife with Matt (far right) and his lieutenant (next to him)
and the ambulance crew on the left.
Here they are receiving a "Life Saving Award" certificate given by Mr. Harris himself.
There was a news story by Channel 11, but I can't get it to upload =(
So proud of my husband for his hard work as well as all the other firefighters and paramedics in the world whose efforts have saved so many lives!
