So I heard this song on the radio and had to tell about it. It's called "Slow Fade" by Casting Crowns. If you haven't heard it, you must download it! It's based of the childrens' song "be careful little eyes what you see." My mom always sings this song with our nephew Andrew. This new song is, I suppose, the adult version. In a world where we've become so desensitized it's easy for our morals, our walk with God and ultimately our lives to "slowly fade." You may not have to pay the price immediately, but you will pay the price. Sometimes we excuse our small sins, but in reality they can just lead to bigger and badder things that don't just affect us but our families and those around us. It's really scary if you think about it. The Bible talks about us as Christians becoming "lukewarm," and how it's better to be hot or cold than to be on the fence. It something we all struggle with in different ways at some point in our life. Sometimes we get so caught up in what television, movies, media and the internet tell us is "normal" that we begin to believe it. They fill us with the lies of Satan. Anyways, I hope everyone will read the lyrics and listen to the song and take this to heart.
"Slow Fade"
Casting Crowns
Be careful little eyes what you see
It's the second glance that ties your hands and darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it's the little feet behind you that are sure to follow
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid... when you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade
Be careful little ears what you hear
When flattery leads to compromise, the end is always near
Be careful little lips what you say
For empty words and promises lead broken hearts astray
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid... when you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
It's a slow fade
The journey from your mind to your hands is shorter than you're thinking
Be careful if you think you stand... you just might be sinking
It's a slow fade when you give yourself away
It's a slow fade when black and white have turned to gray
Thoughts invade, choices are made, a price will be paid... when you give yourself away
People never crumble in a day
Daddies never crumble in a day
Families never crumble in a day
"Oh be careful little eyes what you see, Oh be careful little eyes what you see, For the Father up above is looking down in love, Oh be careful little eyes what you see"
