Raiderette Reunion and Fall Decorations

Happy 50th Anniversary, Raiderettes!!

This past week was L.D. Bell's Homecoming and the 50th Anniversary of the Raiderettes.
As tradition, the alumni Rettes got to perform at half time with the current team.
We had some long practices, but it was a fun experience dancing with Rettes of all ages.

Here is our performance video.

There were about 150 alumni that performed (see us in the back)

Matt got to experience his first high school football game from the stands. He always been on the sidelines. This was also a much bigger venue than he was used to for high school football.
He didn't even know what a drill team was.... so sad if you ask me. ;)

Go Blue Raiders!

They actually won!

Now to reminisce...

Here was the first time I put on my uniform.... almost 10 years ago (I feel so old!)

Here I am.. my first year as a Raiderette.

My senior year with Dorinda. I sure miss those days!

Here is how I found my kitty yesterday... my krazy kat.

Happy Fall, Y'all!

Here are my new friends...

Fall Decorations...

And you can't forget the candy corn and peeps!

Three days of soffit work has turned into two weeks with all the rain.
It's becoming a real drag especially with our dogs.
Hopefully the humidity and rain will clear off for a few days so they can paint.
Check back next week.. hopefully by then we will have our new soffit pics!

Happy Birthday, Derek!

This is what I woke up to the other morning... Maverick asleep on his bench and Maddie asleep on her bed right below him. It's like bunk beds.. such cute puppies.
Lazy Mav

On Friday night, we went to Derek and Beth's to hang out and eat.
Here is Isaac in the cabinet.. he went over, opened the door, and took a seat.

Saturday was opening night of the Stars game. We got our seats upgraded to platinum level, so it was a great way to start of the season (except for the loss). It was a very exciting game..
we were down by two, then tied, then overtime (which we had plenty of chances)
but we lost in a shoot out. GO STARS!!

There they are....

Sunday was Derek's Birthday. We went to Stephenville in the morning to visit my Memere and Paw Paw. After that, we came back to my parents for a party!

Here is Isaac reading with his Pepere who he LOVES.

Isaac helping his daddy open presents.

Andrew wanted to help too! He did a great job handing out the presents.
Happy 33rd Bday, Bubba!
His yummy birthday cheesecake!

Admiring the cake...

Blow your wish!

Happy Friday!

This is the view I had when I left work last night. Beautiful clouds! We even saw a rainbow!

Braggin on my "kids"... here's my "fat cat" although I like to call her "curvy" like her Mama

Sweet Maverick boy... HYPER Maverick boy... where did I get him from? Well, that's a dumb question.. I got him from the pound and I know why he was there.. but I still loooove him!

Pretty Maddie!

Here she is keeping watch of the yard. The other morning we had an armadillo in the back yard.
So far, we've had possums, armadillo, mice, lizards, lots and lots of frogs, snakes..
I'm scared to ask what's next... (skunk?? we pray not)

Now time to brag on the nephew... here is in the the toy bin at my parents house. He always wants "more, more" toys, so my mom just put him in the bucket and he was happy. =)

Pepere reading to his little buddy. Isaac is a Pepere's boy for sure!

And here is cute Kaitlin with her new baby.. she loves it!
She looks cute in the pink car seat we gave her.

Here is Owen riding the lion we gave him for his bday last month. So cute!
Check back next week for house pics.. new soffitt and NEW FRONT DOOR.. yay! So exciting.. except for the fact we are having to spend money, but we are getting top of the line for a GREAT price!

Welcome to the "ERS"!

Welcome to the ERS!! The last four months of the year are always my favorite. I love them and here's why...........

NUMBER 1:
HOCKEY SEASON STARTS!!!
I got my tickets in the mail this week... soooo exciting! I'm also looking forward to taking Andrew to his first hockey game as part of his June Bday gift! I'm also looking forward to having new seats this year. After 3-4 years of season seats, I FINALLY have AISLE seats and I also bumped back two rows so I would have abnoxious people behind me any more!

NUMBER 2:
FALL!!
THANKSGIVING & CHRISTMAS, TOO!
Here is my NEW turkey that I bought last night.
I love him! He has "Happy Harvest" written all over him.
When I told Matt I bought a turkey, he told me if we couldn't eat it I had to take it back. =(
Funny, but he's not going back!

Here is Nala by the new turkey. She's staring intently at the bird.
We moved the bird this week over near the fireplace, so now
Nala can get some height now to keep an eye on Marty.
Speaking of my little devil... here are some random pics of her.
I've had her for 6 years THIS month. Crazy how time flies!
Matt doesn't "get" her or having any cat by that means, but I love her so much!

Here she is staring at my iPhone with crazy cat eyes.

I love my Kitty-Kat!!
(but not as much as she loves SHOES..especially Matt's dirty work boots *makes face*)

So finally, I "started" a project that I have had on my list for a few months now.
We swapped our guest rooms. This room is a little bigger so we wanted to have it for our "guest room" since the other one is mainly an extra/workout room. I also thought since the other room had a big window it would be more inviting to get on the elliptical (not the case this week anyways). But hey, I've been swimming 3-5 days a week so I don't feel so bad.

This is my girly, pink and "flowery" guest room. I love it!
Still a work in progress...

For the first time since I've been married, I finally get to hang my L collection.
We haven't ever really had a good spot.. now we do! Yay for L's!
Here are some of them. I have the other frame that will have a couple,
and then I will need one more frame for the rest.
I started this collection my freshman year at Baylor.

That's all for now! We rearranged our living room some, but I had laundry on the couch, so I didn't want to share pics just yet. ;) I also have on our "to-do" list to add some decoration to our kitchen. I've been collecting "red" kitchen stuff to go above our cabinets for a while now.
I can't wait! It won't be long til the thanksgiving and christmas decorations come out.
AND.. I gotta get going on christmas shopping... my mom and I wrap presents on Halloween!

Vacation to Possum Kingdom Lake

Last weekend we went to stay at a Condo at The Cliffs Resort and Possum Kingdom Lake. Being scared of heights, you would think I would have avoided staying at a place called "The Cliffs" because it sure is high!! It was BEAUTIFUL out there but very hot.

Here is our condo.
Here is the inside of our condo. It was 2 bedroom THREE bath... why does it need a half bath?? And it was right next to the other bathroom.. very crazy but it was very nice!
Here is the view from the resort.

Here is the view from our balcony.

There were deer EVERYWHEREOn Saturday, we went to see the Dam. We also drove to Graham to do some antique-ing (FUN!) I found some treasures!

This is the land of the guy from Lonesome Dove. (I don't know the story, but I'm sure everyone else does)
On Sunday we spent the day out on the lake on a SeaDoo. It was a blast! But my knees killed me during!
Here is Hells Gate. It was beautiful.

Here is Matt on the Sea Doo and me still in the water..... It was NOT easy for me to get back on that thing. I made the mistake of getting off again after I finally got on. They need a little step or something for your feet.. all the strength is in my legs not my arms! When we first got on the Sea Doo I was scared we would both fall off at some point, but Matt tried hard not to let that happen because I wouldnt be able to get back on! I did have fun swimming around though. I think Matt was ready to drive off and leave me ;)
